John Dennis Brown was born on May 11, 1945 to the late Floyd and Tillie Brown in Brooklyn, New York. He enlisted in the United States Army in 1962 as a cook. He served tours in in Korea, Vietnam, and Germany.
John was a plumber by trade.
He married Mary Jordan November 19, 1982, at Lampasas County Courthouse.
On one special Christmas day with gifts in hand, he met his new family and became an instant father and grandfather. A child at heart, he loved playing with his grandchildren.
He was once a formidable baseball player and an all-around athlete, excelling in many different sports in his younger years. Anyone who knew John knows that he liked to watch movies and to this day leaves a very extensive movie library. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed cooking for his family and friends. He was a wonderful family man that loved to joke around and tease everyone. He will be greatly missed.
Preceding him in death are his parents, Floyd and Tillie Brown; a sister, Dorothy Nolan; and a brother, Floyd Brown JR.
Left to cherish his memory are his sisters: Gail, Gene and Joan Brown and Jackie Draughdrill; one brother, Thomas Brown; 12 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren and 10 nieces and nephews.
