John Eads Jr

Services for John Floyd Eads JR. 86, of Killeen, will be Friday at 1:00 p.m. at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home Chapel with Reverends James Eads and Randy Binion officiating.
Burial will follow in Turnersville Community Cemetery.

Mr. Eads died January 18, 2016 in Killeen. He was born July 24, 1929 in Throckmorton, Texas to the late John and Nina Eads.

He met his wife Bobbie in Stephenville, Texas and they were married in 1946. They moved to Killeen in 1964. Mr. Eads was a Service Manager for Fergus Motor Company for 11 years and a Service Manager for a Lincoln-Mercury dealership in Arlington, Texas.

He also worked in construction for Morgan Construction Company until 1979. He later moved back to the Killeen area in 1979 and was an independent trucker until his retirement. A member of Bethel Church:
He was an avid drag racer and an extremely talented guitar player. John was a Christian family man that always took care of his family.

Survivors include his wife Bobbie Eads of Killeen; sons, John D. Eads and James Eads both of Killeen; Daughters Glenda Lewis and Sheila Binion, both of Killeen; sister, Zelma Ruth Dortch of Grandbury, Texas.
Nine grandchildren: 18 great-grandchildren: 1 great-great grandchild.

Visitation is Thursday from 6-8 p.m. at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Killeen, which is in charge of arrangements.
