On Tuesday November 5, 2024 at the age 76, John Vincent Sheil was called home to be with his Heavenly Father.

John V. Sheil born July 18, 1948 in San Francisco, California was the first child of James and Jeanette Sheil. John had three other siblings, Maryellen Backman, Danny Sheil and James Jr. Sheil.

John was educated in the Turlock, California School system where he excelled in academics. On October 22, 1968, John was drafted into the United States Army as an Infantryman and was sent to Vietnam.

John's service ended October 22, 1970 as PV-2 Sheil. Upon his exit from the Military John earn the Combat Infantryman's Badge, Vietnam Service Medal with two Bronze Service Stars, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, Army Commendation Medal and the National Defense Service Medal.

John would go to work in Autobody for 40 years. John enjoyed working on older model vehicles to include paint and body work. He also worked as a Wrecker Driver until his Retirement.

John had a great love for the Lord and served the church both as a Vocational Bible School Mentor and with singing in the church choir, while singing in the choir at the Memorial Baptist Church, John would meet the love of his life, Yvonne Rose.

John is survived by his wife of 20 years, Yvonne Sheil, his daughter Laura Halbrook (RN), Stepson (MSGT) Rose, Marvin, daughter in law Agata Rose, granddaughter Leila Rose, Sister Maryellen Backman, Brothers, Danny Sheil, James Jr Sheil, Mother in Law Barbara Spikes, Father in Law Raymond Spikes, Brother in Law Bobby Greer, Sister in Law Kristi Greer, Brother in Law Larry Ater, Sister in Law Joline Ater and a host of Nieces, Nephews, and Friends.
