JOSE, BELOVED HUSBAND AND FATHER WAS A LONG TIME RESIDENT TO THE KILLEEN/FORT HOOD AREA BEGINNING IN 1958 AND IS PRECEDED IN DEATH BY HIS WIFE OF 59 YEARS, MARIA E. OJEDA. HE LEAVES BEHIND THREE CHILDREN, CAROL JEAN OJEDA-MILES AND HER HUSBAND CURTIS, LARRY OJEDA, PHILLIP OJEDA AND HIS WIFE RAQUEL. JOSE HAD TWO GRAND CHILDREN, AMANDA OJEDA MOLL AND TERRY OJEDA AS WELL AS FIVE GREAT GRANDCHILDREN. HE WAS BORN IN OILTON TX TO SOSTENES CALDERON-OJEDA AND CARLOS OJEDA. HE LOVED SLEEPING LATE AFTER HE RETIRED, WATCHING FOOTBALL AND HIS DOGS.
JOSE WAS IN THE U.S. ARMY FOR OVER 22 YEARS SERVING ONE TOUR IN VIETNAM, TWO TOURS IN GERMANY, ONE TOUR IN KOREA AS WELL AS DUTY POST IN HOUSTON, SAN ANTONIO, KANSAS AND EL PASO. AFTER RETIRING FROM THE ARMY HE WORKED AT THE IRS AND CIVIL SERVICE ON FORT HOOD FOR 20 YEARS ACQUIRING JUST UNDER 42 YEARS OF FEDERAL SERVICE.
VIEWING WILL BE HELD AT THE HARPER TALASEK FUNERAL HOME IN KILLEEN TX ON MONDAY SEPT 23, 2019 FROM 5-7PM AND FUNERAL SERVICES WILL BE CONDUCTED ON TUESDAY SEPTEMBER 24, 2019 AT HARPER TALASEK AT 11 AM WITH INTERNMENT AT THE CENTRAL TEXAS STATE VETERANS CEMETERY AT 1 PM.
