When several things seemed to be going wrong at the same time, Daddy didn't get discouraged, he would say, "Well if 10[%] of the time things aren't going so good, I try to think about the 90[%] that are going good." This has helped us to put into perspective the sadness and void in our lives that we feel today (10[%]) that will be overshadowed by the many meaningful lessons learned and wonderful memories shared (90[%]).
Joseph Anthony Rodrigues, age 88, passed away February 13, 2019 in his sleep at his home, surrounded by his immediate family, those he loved and laughed with most. He was born on July 5, 1930 in Nacogdoches, Texas to John and Selina (Ramos) Rodrigues. He is also preceded in death by his precious baby girl, Fay Rodrigues, sisters and brothers, Stella, Pauline, Laney, Alec, James, John Travis "JT". Also Sisters-in-law, Pauline, Sulema, Jane, and Maria Elena.
Joseph is survived by his wife of 64 years, Kress M Rodrigues; his daughter, Denise Rodrigues, his brother, Michael Rodrigues (Dee) of Houston , sisters-in-law, Rosa Romero of California, brother-in-laws, Demetrio Martinez, Joe E. Martinez Jr. (Mary Ellen), Martin Martinez and Phillip Martinez (Dolores), of Colorado and several very special nieces and nephews.
Services have been entrusted to the care of Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Killeen Texas. Visitation with the family will take place on Friday, February 22 from 5-7p.m. The funeral service for the celebration of Joseph's life will take place at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Killeen on Saturday, February 23rd at 11:00a.m. Interment immediately following at the Killeen Cemetery.
