Joyce Godwin

Killeen- Services for Mrs. Joyce L. Godwin, 92, of Harker Heights will be held Wednesday June 29th at 10AM at Harper-Talasek Chapel in Killeen with Rev. John Beckling officiating. Burial will follow at Killeen Memorial Park.

She passed away Sunday, June 26, 2016 in a Temple hospital.
She was born December 4, 1923 on Broomes Island, Maryland to the late Guy and Helen Illeen Elliott. She was a charter member of the Harker Heights United Methodist Church. Other memberships include the VFW Post 3892 of Harker Heights; Eastern Star Chapter #490 Rebekah Lodge and ABWA Dynamus Chapter. Joyce also was a volunteer for the Voting Elections of Harker Heights for many years.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband Darl W. Godwin; a son Harold Godwin; a granddaughter, Angel Garcia and grandson, Shorty Leggett; son-in-law, Bill Leggett.

She is survived by her daughters, Sharon Leggett of Harker Heights; Marsha (Tommie) Fulcher of Harker Heights; Darlene (Frank) Matamoros of Harker Heights. Siblings; Ramona Mulligan of Pasadena, MD and Glen Elliott of Pass Christian, MS; seven grandchildren; eighteen greatgrandchildren; five great-great grandchildren.

Visitation will be Tuesday from 6-8 pm at the funeral home.
