Kinard

Funeral services for retired Staff Sgt. Kenneth Lee Kinard, 47, of Killeen, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at HarperTalasek Funeral Home Chapel in Killeen with a U.S. Army chaplain officiating. Burial will follow at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery.
Mr. Kinard died Dec. 11, 2012, at his residence. He was born Feb. 5, 1965, in Phoenix, Ariz.

He entered the U.S. Army in 1985, serving 23 years, 12 of those with the 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment Airborne. During his service, he received numerous awards and decorations including the Ranger Tab and Master Parachutist Badge.

Survivors include his wife, Sharon Kinard of Killeen son, Antony Kinard of Killeen daughter, Amanda Kinard of Killeen brothers, Richard Kinard of Phoenix, Ariz., Wayne Kinard of Tucson, Ariz., Ronald Petersen Jr. of Anchorage, Alaska, David Kukowski of Carlin, Nev., and Robert Petersen of Spring Grove, Minn. grandchildren, Akira Kinard, Cruzlyn Kinard and Katara Kinard, all of Killeen parents, Nancy Kinard of Phoenix, Ariz., and Ronald Petersen of Rushford, Minn.

Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. today at HarperTalasek Funeral Home in Killeen, which is in charge of arrangements.
