Ladetra Renae Carter was born on November 10, 1971, in Panama. She made Killeen her home and built a beautiful legacy for her loved ones.
Ladetra loved music and singing karaoke. She enjoyed dressing up and celebrating life events with her friends and family. She was a powerhouse in a small package. She loved anything that sparkled and radiated joy and confidence to those around her. She was consistently optimistic, generous, open, and loyal.
She raised two intelligent and beautiful daughters, whom she valued most. The birth of her daughters began for her what she considered the best job she ever had. She was upbeat and protective of her children. She had a big heart and loved her family beyond measure.
She was a good friend and confidant because she was always kind and loving. She was admired and always maintained a positive and happy demeanor.
She was a hard worker and always encouraged others to continue working toward their goals. She was joyful, driven, and dependable. She had faith that there was no set time to accomplish your desires, but valued steady progress and commitment. She always offered kind advice with a smile summarized by her signature phrases “Well ya know,” and “I’m just saying.”
She was determined to embrace the next chapter of her life with grace. Bravely encouraging her girls to continue to succeed and leave the nest, she took time to travel and indulge in self-care. She was never hesitant to say, “I’m proud of you, and I love you.”
Those left to honor and cherish Ladetra’s memory are her parents, Felicia and Charlie; her siblings Tony, Ashley, Charmaine, Jawanza, Sonja, and Romas III; her daughters Jaylah and Jasmine; her nephew Devyn and niece Jayda; and many cousins, all of whom she loved and touched deeply.
Her light will forever shine in the hearts of those she touched.
