Laura "Jan" Yamase

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Laura "Jan" Yamase, 80 years of age, who left us on Tuesday, October 7, 2025, at Stoney Brook of Belton. Interment will be in Central Texas State Veteran’s Cemetery at a later date.

Jan was born September 2, 1945, in Lubbock, Texas to the late Calvin L. Roberts and Sara G. Narried. She was full of love, laughter, and resilience. Jan touched the lives of all who knew her. Her legacy of kindness and strength will continue to inspire everyone she has met. She taught the importance of empathy, showing that in a world of ongoing conflict being kind can make a world of difference.

Jan was preceded in death by her husband, George "Yoshi" Yamase, Sr.; and son, George "Yoshi" Yamase, Jr.

She is survived by her daughter, Shelby "Sachiko" Yamase; and her grandchildren, Noah and Gage Yamase-Hancock.
