Killeen

Liliana Jocelyn Maldonado, 37, of Killeen, Texas, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 4, 2025. Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 16, at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Killeen. A time of visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m., with the service to follow at 11:00 a.m. Liliana will be laid to rest at Killeen Memorial Park.

Born on May 4, 1988, in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Liliana was the cherished daughter of Cesar Hernandez Arias and Alicia Acevedo. From an early age, Liliana radiated warmth, humility, and a deep compassion for others. At the age of 2, she moved to California where she was raised and would eventually meet her future husband, Steve Maldonado. They were married on July 17, 2008, after moving to the Central Texas area in 2006, and making a home in Killeen to raise a family.

Liliana’s love for nature, especially the mountains, reflected her appreciation for life's simple, quiet moments. She found a sense of peace and gratitude in even the smallest examples of God's beauty all around her as she hiked. She also loved sitting outside during thunderstorms to watch the lightning and listen to the thunder.

Liliana’s strength and resilience were matched only by her selflessness and gratitude. She had a remarkable ability to listen, offering wisdom and comfort to those around her. Whether offering advice or simply being present, she was a steady source of support to both family and friends. Liliana lived her life with grace, never wanting others to worry. Her faith in the Lord was unwavering, and she found joy and peace in reading her Bible. Although she wasn’t a member of a local church, she was a part of the Body of Christ through the Holy Spirit.

Liliana's greatest joy was her family. She was a devoted wife, a loving mother, and a guiding light to her five children. Her presence will be deeply missed but her spirit lives on in the lives she touched.

She is survived by her parents; her beloved husband, Steve Maldonado; her siblings, Mauro, Leslie, Alondra, and her 3 other siblings; and her treasured children: Justin, Jacob, Jasmine, Jayden, and Jonathan Maldonado.

Liliana’s memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
