Lillie Teater

Lillie Faye Teater of Killeen, Texas was called home on April 20, 2018 at the age of 85.

Lillie was born in Colorado City, Texas on September 6, 1932 to Lillie Tarter and Overton Brown; she had five siblings: Malloy, Verna Mae, Romell, James Ray and Joyce.

Lillie married Stanley Teater in 1947, and they welcomed their first son, Stanley Ray, in 1949. Their second son, Richard, was born in 1954, and their daughter, Pamela, was born in 1961. After 40 years of marriage, Stanley passed away in 1987.

Her fourteen grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren were the love of her life. She was nicknamed "Wannaw" by her first grandchild. The name stuck and she was affectionately known as "Wannaw" by all of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren for the rest of her life.

Lillie was a long - time member of East Side Baptist Church, volunteering her free time to their Wednesday-Night Dinners, helping in their food pantry, and helping out in the church's nursery. She enjoyed cooking and baking, often hosting holiday dinners at her home. She was also talented at crochet.

Lillie worked for the food service department of Killeen Independent School District for twenty years before retiring.

Lillie is preceded in death by her husband, Stanley, and their son, Stanley Ray. She is survived by her son Richard, his wife Nancy and their three children, her daughter Pamela, her husband Terry and their six children, and her daughter-in-law, Jenny and her five children.

She was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. She will be greatly missed.
