Services for Lois M. Brookes, 97, of Killeen will be at 10 a.m. Thusday at HarperTalasek Funeral Home in Killeen with Reverend Don Broadwater officiating. Interment will follow at Killeen City Cemetery.
Lois Mozella Brookes was born on August 22, 1915 in Killeen, Texas to the union of Jim and Velma Arnold. On August 5, 1935 she married Jesse M. Slats Brookes in Killeen. She was member of the Memorial Baptist Church, a help mate to her husband, a mother, grandmother, great grandmother and a greatgreat grandmother.
Lois was preceded in death by her husband Jesse Slats0 Brookes, her parents, Jim and Velma Arnold her sisters, Fern Becknell and Maxine Veazy her brothers, Shorty, Clifton, James Screwdriver, Wayne Pistol and Jack Arnold.
He leaves to cherish her loving memories, her sons, Jesse Glen Brookes of San Antonio Jimmy and his wife Eileen Brookes of Austin daughters Dorothy and her husband Bob Olchesky Betty and her husband Raymond Storey Grandchildren Tom and his wife Kathy Brace Jeff and his wife Bobbi Olchesky Cynthia Brace and partner Jackie Jason Brookes, Glen Brookes, Amber Brookes and partner Ray Storey and Ruth Storey Great grandchildren, Christine Brace Brian and wife Sarah Olchesky Jeffrey and wife Charis Olchesky Megan and her husband Rick Harding Nicolas, Angela and Harmony Brookes Amanda, Ashley, Wyatt, Baylor and Mille Storey and several greatgreat grandchildren.
Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. today at HarperTalasek Funeral Home in Killeen, which is in charge of arrangements.
