Funeral services for Lorene Craft Pierce, 90, of Killeen, will be at 12:30 p.m. Friday at First United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Skip Blancett officiating. Interment will follow at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery.BRBRPierce died July 30, 2008, in a local nursing home. She was born Oct. 25, 1917, in Charleston, Ark., to the late George and Lucie Craft.BRBRShe received her bachelor's degree from Henderson State University in 1939. She married Alonzo Pierce on April 17, 1941, in Jeffersonville, Ind. Pierce was a school teacher.BRBRShe moved to Killeen in 1959, where she was a member of First United Methodist Church. She was also the president of the Killeen Garden Club from 1969 to 1980; the past president of the Wednesday Review Club from 1973 to 1975; president 1980 and member of the Killeen Lions Club; and one of the charter members and original organizer of the Retired Officers Wife Club ROWC.BRBRSurvivors include her husband, Alonzo R. Pierce of Killeen; her daughter, Ann Perius of Killeen; her son, Raymond Pierce of Fort Worth; her granddaughter, Pebble Perius of Killeen; and her great-granddaughter, Ciara Perius of Killeen.BRBRVisitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Killeen.
