Celebration of life services for Luther A. Carpenter Sr., 80, of Killeen, will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at East Side Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. John C. Hallum officiating. Interment will follow at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery.
Mr. Carpenter died March 23, 2014. He was born May 18, 1933, in Woodford, Vt., to the late Henry and Ruth Lorette Carpenter. He married the love of his life, Laura Osborne, in Quanah on June 5, 1954. Luther enlisted in the U.S. Air Force, serving 20 years before retiring in 1973. Mr. Carpenter was preceded in death by four brothers and one sister. Survivors include his loving wife, Laura of Killeen children, Deborah Woodward and her husband, Mark, of Vermont, Dianne Jake Rock and her husband, Thomas, of Killeen, Betty Kitten Gorman and her husband, John, of Alabama, Sally Garrett and her husband, Rick, of Killeen and Luther Mack Carpenter Jr. and his wife, Lori, of Copperas Cove 12 grandchildren 22 greatgrandchildren and two greatgreatgrandchildren.

Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at HarperTalasek Funeral Home in Killeen, which is in charge of arrangements.
