Mae Elizabeth Nelson, 91, was born December 25, 1921 in Killeen, Texas to the late Thomas E. Thornton and Julia Parker. She died Dec. 13, 2013 at a local nursing home in Belton, Texas. She worked for Fort Hood DECA commissary up until her retirement. She was preceded in death by her husband Eugene P. Nelson in 2000. Leaving behind to treasure her memories are one son, Eddie Nelson of San Antonio, Texas two daughters, Frances Nelson of Killeen, TX Eva Mae McKinney of Petersburg, PA one brother, Edgar Thornton of Belton, TX one sister, Doris Brown of Harker Heights, TX four grandchildren and one greatgrandchild.
