Born in 1926 to Gustave and Claudia Gremillion in the quaint town of Moreauville, Louisiana, Margaret grew up in a farming family, where she learned the values of hard work and perseverance. Her early years were marked by the challenges of the Great Depression, which she faced with unwavering strength and determination.
Margaret's life was a tapestry of rich experiences and cherished memories. She was the beloved wife of the late Harry J. Ducote, Jr, with whom she shared a beautiful journey as an army wife. Together, they traveled across the country and Europe creating a loving home filled with adventure for their family. Margaret's adventurous spirit did not wane with time; she continued to explore the world with her dear sister, Elaine Hendricks, embracing every new experience with enthusiasm and grace.
Margaret is survived by her two devoted daughters, Corliss Baker and her husband Richard, and Mona Miller, who carry forward her legacy of love and kindness. Her 3 grandchildren, Lisa Majed and her husband Ali, Margaret (Maggie) Foster and her husband Tommy, and Alan Cowan and his wife Brandi, 6 great grandchildren and 5 great, great grandchildren were the light of her life, each holding a special place in her heart. She is also survived by her brother, Michael Gremillion and his wife Ginny, and her sister, Sister Elizabeth Marie, who shared the joys and sorrows of her long and fulfilling life.
Margaret was a beacon of inspiration to all who knew her, adapting to the many changes of the 20th and 21st centuries with grace and wisdom. Her family and friends will forever cherish the memories of her warmth, her laughter, and her unwavering love. She leaves behind a legacy of strength, compassion, and an indomitable spirit that will continue to inspire generations to come. Margaret G.
