Maria "Mary" Barraza was born in Gonzales, Texas on January 10, 1936. The Lord called upon her to enter heavens gates on September 15, 2017.
Mary worked various jobs that included, working for A1 Cleaners; she was a custodian and bus driver for the Killeen Independent School District until she retired to do her favorite job of all, being a grandmother. An excellent mother and homemaker, Mary was an outstanding cook and loved preparing meals for her many friends and considerable family members. Her "Tony" bean tacos and sweet tea could shame a steak dinner and wine any day. Mary loved to dance and listen to music, in her younger years, she knew how to throw a New Year's Eve Party like no other and she usually hosted an after party for the after party with menudo following the dances at the Pan American Club. Those closest to her are probably smiling now, thinking of all the memories from those days. She was an enthusiastic sports fan, particularly baseball, until the very end she was cheering on the Texas Rangers but her favorite baseball team of all time would be hands down, the Pan American Club Pericos…and more wonderful memories.
Mary is preceded in death by her late husband, Pedro "Pete" Rodriguez Barraza, her son, Steven Luna, her grandson, Juanito Garcia, her mother, Jesusa Flores Delgado, her father, Jose Mireles, and her stepfather, Francisco "Frank" Delgado, and her sister Elisa Kilpatrick.
