Funeral services for Marina Denise Abanathey, 55, of Killeen will be at 1:00 p.m. Monday at Harper-Talasek Chapel in Killeen with the Reverend George Morgan officiating.
Marina Denise Abanathey was called upon by her Lord and Savior October 6, 2009.
Born August 22, 1954 at St. Marys Hospital in Brooklyn, New York to Sylvia and Roy Phillips. Upon graduating from Erasmus High School in Brooklyn, Marina joined the United States Air Force. After serving in the Air Force, Marina continued with her education and was able to obtain a Bachelors degree in Computer Science and a Masters Degree in Management Information Systems from Texas AM University at Central Texas.
Marina is preceded in death by her fathers Roy Phillips, Charles Brathwaite, Grandmother Christine Moore, Uncle Paul Nelson; Aunts Adele Couch, Valencia Johnson, and Mother in Law Helen Abanathey.
Left to cherish her memories is her husband Rufus Abanathey of Killeen; Sons Aahteri Maxwell of Killeen; Young Daniel Abanathey of Alabama; Daughter Janeen Dozier of Brooklyn, NY; her mother Sylvia Brathwaite of Killeen; sister Joyce Pena of Brooklyn, NY; brothers Reginald Fraser of Connecticut; Kenneth Fraser of New Jersey; Keith and Kevin Brathwaite of Brooklyn, NY; Lee Phillips of Maryland; 12 grandchildren , many cousins aunts, uncles and numerous friends around the world.
Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m to 1:00 p.m. Monday at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Killeen.
