Mary Adams

Graveside services will be held for Mary Lynda Adams, 92, of Killeen at the Killeen City Cemetery at 1pm, Thursday, January 28, 2016. Visitation will be held Wednesday, January 27 from 5:00-6:30 pm at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Killeen.

Mrs. Adams died Sunday, January 24, 2016. She was born on July 29, 1923, to Irma Leon Ford and Walter Thomas Mundell in Coryell County on farmland that is now part of Fort Hood. She spent her childhood on small farms in Bell County and graduated from Killeen High School in 1940. She worked a few years at the Killeen Post Office and for the Killeen Theaters.

Mrs. Adams was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Roy Edgar Mundell; and sister, Joan Mundell. Mrs. Adams is survived by her husband, Gordon "Cotton" Adams; son, Gordon G. Adams and wife, Barbara, of Salado, and their son, Michael; son, Roy Dale Adams of Deer Park and his son, Chance. She is also survived by her brother, Kent Mundell and his wife Dorene of Lake Belton. Mrs. Adams is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to a favorite charity or the Killeen ISD Education Foundation.
