Mary Schappell

Mary Schappell, 95 of Killeen, passed from this life Monday, April 21, 2025. Private family services will be held at a later date.

Mary was born August 21, 1929, in Frackville, Pennsylvania, the youngest of 5 children. She and Robert Schappell were childhood sweethearts, married, and toured the world as an Army Chaplain family. She had a wonderful church family as well, at St. Christopher's Episcopal Church, where she worshiped for over 37 years. Mary was a great lover of cats and dogs, at one time providing foster care for 23 animals. We are certain those furry friends are waiting for her in Heaven.

Survivors include her son, Jon Schappell and wife, Melany; daughter, Joy Blustin; grandson, Ian, and his mother, Sandy; and 4 great-grandchildren.
