Matthew Thompson

Matthew Thompson, 73, passed away January 30, 2015 in Killeen.

Matthew Thompson was born July 6, 1941 in Austin, Texas to Essie Ola Jordan and raised by his aunt and uncle J.D. and Kissiah James Thompson. Matthew entered the U.S. Army following high school and served his country for 22 years. He served at several duty stations including Germany. He met and married Frances Thomas in 1981. Of this union one child was born. Matthew was an avid fisherman and loved sports. He loved his grandchildren and spent a lot of time taking them to games and other activities. He worked for Harper-Talasek Funeral Home before retiring.

Proceeded in death by his parents, and one son Tony Washington.

Cherishing his memories are his wife Frances Thompson of Killeen; three sons, Allen Thompson, Diallow (Felicia) Jones, Pernall (Tisha) Thomas; four daughters, Kasandra (Earnest) Smith, Contessa (Travis) Cumming, Bermecia Thompson, and Essie Washington; 25 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; 10 first cousins, and a host of cousins, nieces and nephews.
