Melvin Kennon

Services for Melvin "Scooter" Kennon, 62, of Killeen, will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Killeen, with Dan Galanffy officiating.

Mr. Kennon died Oct. 1, 2015.

Melvin was born in the Panama Canal Zone. He was a 1972 graduate of Killeen High School and worked for the local phone company for more than 28 years.

Mr. Kennon was preceded in death by his father, Melvin H. Kennon Sr.

He is survived by his wife, Lillian L. Kennon, of Harker Heights; his daughter, Jaqlyn, and her husband, David Dillow, of Killeen; his daughter, Kristen, and her husband, John Watson, of Copperas Cove; his mother, Carmen Kennon, of Harker Heights; his sister, Debra Kennon, of Killeen; his sister, Denise, and her husband, Michael Adkins, of Harker Heights; his sister, Desiree L. Kennon, and her husband, Jack Ford, of Harker Heights; and his grandchildren Joseph, Kristopher, Johnathan, Isabella and Jeremiah.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Jesus Hope and Love Mission Shelter, P.O. Box 1595, Killeen, TX 76540.
