Funeral services for Melvin Dean Miller, 84, of Killeen, will be held at 11:00a.m. Friday April 2nd at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home Chapel. Mr. Miller passed away peacefully on March 25th, 2021 at a local Killeen Hospital. Melvin was born in 1936 in Wabash, Indiana in the middle of the Great Depression. Melvin and his sister Dorene grew up on a farm with their foster parents until he joined the Army in November 1957. He is a Vietnam Veteran with 20 years of service and Bronze Star recipient. He was married to the love of his life Karin, for 54 years, until her passing in June 2015. Melvin visited 32 countries lived most of his life in Germany, traveled throughout Europe before returning stateside and traveling across the United States. Melvin loved traveling, bowling, fast vehicles, wood working, and fine arts. Melvin and his wife Karin eventually settled in Killeen in 2008.
He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, and daughter Angelica. He is survived by his sister Dorene Romine.
Visitation will also be Friday from 10:00 to 11:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
