IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Michael Olin
Leschber
December 3, 1951 – February 14, 2026
Mike passed away from pancreatic cancer on February 14,2026 at his home in Briggs Texas. Mike was 74 years old.
Mike was born to Olin and Joy Leschber on December 3,1951 and raised in Taylor, Texas. He roamed the streets of Taylor on his bike and go cart and later in a 1955 Chevrolet (straight from his dad’s wrecking yard) with friends. He grew up working in his father’s Dodge dealership, various parts stores and Western Auto. Mike had a good work ethic, often skipping school and going to work instead. He loved to fix up and race cars, his beloved 1967 Corvair and yellow 1968 Barracuda often in his stories and memories.
Mike joined the Marines in 1970 returning to start a family with his 1st wife, Brenda Zezulka, they welcomed Sean Alex Leschber in 1970. Mike married wife # 2 Sandra Janke they were blessed with Jennifer LeAnn Leschber in 1974 and Michael Olin Leschber, Jr., in 1978 during this time Mike worked for the Missouri Pacific Railroad. Along came wife #3, Deanna Daughtry this union produced a son, James Mitchell Leschber in 1985 and proved third time is the charm lasting over 46 years until Mike’s death. In 1980 Mike lost his right hand while working on the Railroad. This accident showed us all Mike’s resilience as he learned how to shoot pool, ride his Harley and continue with life to its fullest never letting anything stop him. Mike enjoyed going to the deer lease where he and his lifelong friends would fellowship, hunt deer and create more memories. TO THE RANCH! Mike was proud of his military service but prouder still when sons Michael and James then grandson Hunter all joined the Marines also. SEMPER FI! After years of owning a landscape company his retirement brought Mike and Deanna to a piece of paradise in Briggs, Texas where the days were spent on his tractor, using a chain saw or building things to improve the place until he got sick in June 2025. Mike was very proud of all his grandchildren and loved his role as Paw.
Mike was preceded in death by his grandparents, numerous aunts and uncles and his parents: Olin Elbert Leschber and Agnes Joy Smith.
Mike is survived by his wife Deanna; Sean Alex Leschber, son and wife Cassie; Jennifer Linnabery, daughter and his favorite son-in-law Rick Linnabery; Michael Leschber, Jr. son; James Mitchell Leschber, son.
