Funeral services for Mildred Marie Dye, 84, of Killeen, will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at East Side Baptist Church with Dr. John Hallum officiating. Interment will be at Killeen Memorial Park. Mrs. Dye died May 5, 2013, at a local nursing center. She was born March 17, 1929, in Elkview, W.Va. She married Charles Dye Jr. in 1950, and moved to Killeen in 1960. Mrs. Dye worked as a secretary for the Killeen Independent School District at the Meadows Elementary School for 21 years. She was a member of East Side Baptist Church and loved her flower garden. Survivors include her son, Charles E. Dye of Kempner daughters, Joyce Smartnick of Boulder, Mont., Marilyn James of Kempner, Tammy Coleman of Kempner, Rebecca McMickle of Killeen brothers, Paul Icenhower of Ohio, Denver Icenhower of West Virginia grandchildren, Ronald, Randy and Robert Smartnick, Charles B. and Jamie Dye, Billy L. and Frank James, Jennifer Stinehour, Lisa and Amanda Coleman and greatgrandchildren, Caleb and Ethan Smartnick and Chloe Frederick. Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. today at HarperTalasek Funeral Home in Killeen, which is in charge of arrangements
