Mildred Mcbride

Services for Mildred Billie Ruth McBride, 82, of Nolanville will be at 2 p.m. Friday at HarperTalasek Funeral Home Chapel in Killeen with Dr. Rodney Kruse and Pastor David Samuels officiating. Burial will follow at Killeen City Cemetery.

Mrs. McBride died July 5, 2010, at her residence.

She was born Dec. 7, 1927, in Prairie Dell, where she also educated.

She married Ray V. McBride in 1948. Mildred worked as a secretary at Fort Hood during World War II.

She and her husband were former owners of Macs Mobile Home Park.

She was an avid gardener and loved spending time with her grandchildren and sitting on the porch swing with her husband of 60 years.

Survivors include a son, David McBride, and his wife, Shirley, of Nolanville a brother, Jay Cosper of Killeen sisters, Nell Cosper of Harker Heights and Sherry Cosper of Nolanville and grandchildren Brian and Justin McBride, both of Nolanville.

She was preceded in death by her husband, a son, a brother and her parents.

Her family wants to give special thanks to the following people: Ruby Whisman, Helen Justice, Dr. Rodney Kruse, Kimberly Hightower, The Lighthouse UPC and friends, Pastor David Samuels and the staff Scott White Hospice team.

The family will receive visitors from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
