Milton J, Reid, 79 of Killeen went home to be with the Lord on Jan 20, 2013. Born Dec 31, 1933 in Milam County to Juil and Ruby Reid.
Milton married Catherine Person on July 24, 1954 in Bartlett, Texas. Milton was employed by the City of Killeen as Director of Solid Waste from 1955 to 1994 when he retired.
He had 4 children Shirley Roach David of Killeen, Sue Hodge Donnie of Lawton, OK, Terry Reid Debbie of Killeen, Sandra Wright Allen of Gatesville. 9 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. Sisters: Brenda Stull of Fairview, PA Faye Harvelljfof Big Spring, TX Rose Williams of Brandon, MS Brothers: Lucky Reid of Morgans Point, TX Lynn Reid of Belton, TX and Rodney Reid of Morgans Point, TX. Step Mother: Alice Ruth Wear of Temple, TX. Numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 sisters: Margie Wear and Patsy Hughes, 1 grandson: Terry Justin Reid and 1 great grandson: Christian Oldham.
In addition to enjoying time with family and friends, Milton was a avid hunter and fisherman. He also loved playing dominoes and Krocono.
He was a lifelong member of New Sunset Community Baptist Church in Killeen. He served as Sunday School Teacher of the Youth Dept, and the Mens Sunday School Class, he was a UsherGreeter and proudly served his Lord and Church as a Deacon. Milton also coached several seasons of ladies Softball. Milton loved old fashioned gospel singings and praising his Lord through song.
