Services for Vietnam War Veteran MSGT (Ret) James W. McNeil, 78, of Eddy will be Friday, January 27 at 10:00 a.m. at the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery. Burial will follow with military honors.

James died January 23, 2017 at his residence.

He was born April 18, 1938 in Lordsburg, New Mexico to the late Ballard Levi McNeil and Minnie Beatrice (Chapman) McNeil.
James married the former Ms. Aileen Love April 10, 1959 in Wichita Falls, TX.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Robert "Gene" McNeil and Ballard "Dale" McNeil; his sister, Nelda Jane Huffman; and great- granddaughter, Piper Leann Loew.

Survivors include his wife, Aileen McNeil; Sons, Richard Dale McNeil; Jeffery Lee McNeil his wife Teresa Ann; daughter, Janice Yvonne Cook and her husband, James Gordon; sisters, Lilly Deaton and Laquita Sabin; grandchildren, James Paul McNeil; Jeffery Dale McNeil; Rebecca Yvonne McNeil; Janell Marie Loew and her husband Brandon Thomas; Samantha Megan Laurendine and her husband Jeffrey; Dana Elizabeth Hester; great grandchildren, Azan James Thomson and Raelynn Jo Loew.

Visitation is Thursday, January 26th from 3-5 p.m. at the funeral home.
