Myong Hui Ramey

November 17, 1948 — January 5, 2025

Killeen

Myong Hui Ramey, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on January 5, 2025, in Killeen, Texas, at the age of 76. Born on November 17, 1948, in Seoul, Korea, Myong brought joy, grace, and love into every room she entered.

Affectionately known as “Chae” by her husband’s family, Myong married the love of her life, Norman Ramey, on August 25, 1972. Together, they shared over 52 years of unwavering devotion, laughter, and countless adventures as an Army family. Their deep love and partnership were an inspiration to all who knew them.

Myong is survived by her best friend and husband, Norman Ramey; as well as her cherished son, Billy Ramey, and his wife, Daisy Ramey; followed by her adored grandsons: Brandon, Braylon, and Orlando Ramey; finally, her beloved and only granddaughter, Bailey Carolina Ramey.

Myong embraced a life of travel and new experiences as an Army wife. She loved living in and visiting other countries, exploring cultures, and forming lasting friendships worldwide. Among her favorite family memories were living in Alaska, celebrating family births and graduations, and attending Military Balls with her husband. Myong especially treasured spending summers and holidays in North Carolina with her beloved Mother-in-law Ann Bostic and the entire Ramey family.

Myong was known for her vibrant spirit and active lifestyle. Whether sewing, participating in Zumba classes, walking, or engaging in activities at the Lions Club Senior Center in Killeen, she radiated energy and enthusiasm. Above all, her greatest joy was spending time with her family and friends.

A devout Christian, Myong’s life was centered on her faith. She found immense fulfillment in spreading the word of the Lord through mission work and handwriting the entire Bible multiple times—a testament to her deep devotion. Her favorite Bible verse, John 3:16, guided her every step: “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”

Myong’s treasured accomplishments include her loving marriage to Norman. Her son Billy’s graduation from college and his career as a high school basketball coach and teacher, her beautiful and talented grandchildren, and she will be remembered for her resilience, adaptability, and her ability to embrace new places and people with an open heart.

A celebration of Myong’s remarkable life will be held at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home, located at 506 North 38th Street, Killeen, TX 76543, on Thursday, January 16, 2025. The viewing will begin at 11 a.m., followed by the funeral service at noon. The interment will be at 2 p.m. at the Texas State Veterans Cemetery.

Myong’s legacy of faith, love, and joy lives on in the hearts of her family and all who were blessed to know her. She will be profoundly missed but never forgotten.
