Services for Nathan Ray Small, 83, of Killeen, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday Jan. 12 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Killeen.
He died Jan. 7, 2013, following a sixweek battle with lung cancer. He was born July 20, 1929 in Portland, ME.
Nate was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, had a lifelong passion for golf, enjoyed public speaking and politics.
He served in the United States Army from 1952 to 1954, and worked for 38 years in the laboratory at Darnall Army Community Hospital.
He was preceded in death by his wife Anne in 1993, sister Nancy in 1995,
granddaughter Jennifer in 2001 and grandson Andrew in 2011.
Survivors include sons Mark Small and wife Julie of Dallas, Scott Small and wife Georgia of Baton Rouge, LA, and Erik Small and wife Nancy of Lorena daughters Kimberley Baker and husband Pat of Southlake, and Kirsten Bradshaw and husband Todd of Lucas and 12 grandchildren.
Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service at the church.
Memorials in Nathans name can be made to Heroes for Children, which helps
families affected by childhood cancer, or the ALS Association.
HarperTalasek Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
