Funeral services for Nevada Anna Davis, 98, of Killeen will be at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at the First Baptist Church of Killeen with the Rev. Pat McDonald officiating. Internment will be at Killeen Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mrs. Davis died May 28, 2011.
She was born Sept. 11, 1912, in Bosque County to Will and Winnie Hanshew.
Mrs. Davis married Dennis C. Davis July 12, 1927.
Her family moved to the Youngsport area in the late 1930s and later moved to Hood Village where they lived while Mr. Davis served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. During the war, Mrs. Davis worked at the Camp Hood Post Office. After Mr. Davis returned, the family opened the White Spot Cafe in downtown Killeen where Mrs. Davis did the cooking. Mrs. Davis also worked at Wells Meat Market, Adams Grocery Store and Greens Pawn Shop. After retirement, she was an avid gardener and quilter. Always busy, growing vegetables to can, growing flowers and making quilts for family members even up the age of 96. She was an excellent cook, inviting the entire family over for Sunday lunch for many years.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Killeen for more than 57 years and an active member of the Esther Sunday School class as long as her health permitted.
Mrs. Davis was preceded in death by her husband, Dennis infant daughter, Mary Lou a son, Henry Bill parents and all of her siblings.
She is survived by two daughters, LaRue Cowan and Rebecca Stringer a daughterinlaw, Jeannie Davis eight grand children 13 greatgrandchildren and six greatgreatgrandchildren.
Visitation will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the First Baptist Church of Killeen.

HarperTalasek Funeral Home in Killeen is in charge of arrangements.
