Services for Nina Lorena Curb Massie will be at East Side Baptist Church on Saturday, March 15, 2014 at 9 AM. Burial will follow in Killeen Memorial Park.
Nina Lorena Curb Massie was born August 12, 1923 to Louis Newton and Lorena Love Curb in the Trimmier Community. She died March 12, 2014 at her home near Azle, TX.
She married Cecil Alton Massie November 8, 1942 in Flat, TX.
She graduated from Killeen High School and lived in the Killeen area 78 years before moving to Azle. She taught school at Cedar Valley in the 1940s, later working at Lone Star Gas Co., and Sears, Roebuck and Company in Killeen. She was active in the Bell County Home Demonstration Club and Trimmier Friendship Club as well as the Killeen 4H Club and Killeen Junior Livestock Show. She was a member of East Side Baptist Church in Killeen most recently she was a member of Ash Creek Baptist Church in Azle.
She helped her husband with their ranch for over 55 years and was an avid gardener, seamstress and homemaker.
Mrs. Massie was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil Alton Massie May 23, 2002 her mother, Lorena Love Curb father, Louis Newton Curb three brothers: Marvin Curb, Newt Curb and Dock L. Curb, Sr.
Survivors include one daughter, Sandra McBride, and husband, Wade a granddaughter Megan Brimijoin, and husband, Bill, all of Azle two sisterinlaws: Aleeta Kenan of Belton and Mary Hicks and husband, Weldon, of Killeen numerous nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be at Harper Talasek Funeral Home on Friday, March 14, 68 PM.
