Mr. Ollie Weaver was born on February 28, 1940 in Beeville, Texas. His dad moved to Killeen, Texas to work on building Fort Hood barracks. He was the first of eight children and went to elementary, junior high and high school in Killeen. After a serious knee injury while playing football, he decided to move on from high school but never stopped learning.
He started barbering in 1958, and remembers cutting 100 heads every day for 15 days straight. Haircuts were $0.70, and He thought that he was rich! Many weeks he worked seven days. He worked on Fort Hood for 46 years, and was able to secure the concession, which was for 17 years. He went on to secure concessions at numerous military bases in Texas. He also owned and operated OG's Barber School in Killeen for many years before retiring and turning it over to his best student ever, Kevin Lane. He was a custom home builder, owned a car lot as well as being a faithful servant at First Assembly of God for many decades. He was a decon, Sunday school teacher and served wherever he was asked.
In 1961 Ollie met the beautiful young lady Jean Fullen, and they were married in November 1962. He had to wait until she grew up and finished high school. She was the best thing that ever happened to him! They were blessed with two children, a son Ollie Lee Weaver Jr in 1966, a daughter, Jennifer Weaver Wagner in 1969, and now have nine grandchildren:
Leon Wagner, Brianna Suarez, Grey Wagner and Owen Wagner, son-in-law Carlos Suarez
Preston Weaver, Kristian Weaver, Reagen Weaver, Ireland Weaver and Reilan Weaver and a future great grandson on the way Carter.
Ollie was loved by many and was a pillar in the community. He will be missed but never forgotten because of his infectious smile and generous heart. He loved and served The Lord and leaves behind a rich legacy.
