Peter Kirkham, age 79, of Killeen, Texas, passed away peacefully on May 24, 2026. Peter was born on November 3, 1946, in Winona, Minnesota, to Terry Francis Kirkham and Julia M. Kirkham. He proudly served in the military before continuing a career in public service as a deputy sheriff with Williamson County.

Peter enjoyed motorcycles, radio, camping, and traveling throughout Europe. He lived a life marked by service, adventure, and devotion to those he loved.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Peter is survived by his wife, Irmgard “Irma” Amalie Kirkham; his son, Peter K. Kirkham Jr.; his daughter, Julie A. Rhimi (Kirkham) Soufien; his sister, Cathy Cartwright and her husband, Zach; his grandchildren, Mohammad Rhimi, Joanne Kirkham, Charlie Kirkham, and Angel Kirkham; and his great-grandchild, Zane Kirkham. He is also survived by his nephews, Eric and Adam Cartwright.

A visitation will be held on Monday, June 8, from 6 to 8pm. A funeral service will take place the next day, Tuesday, June 9, at 9AM at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Killeen. Following the service, burial will take place at Central Texas State Veterans' Cemetery.
