Funeral services for Phillip A. Sanchez, 74, of Killeen will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Josephs Catholic Church of Killeen with Father Adam Martinez officiating. Burial will follow at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery with full military honors.
Mr. Sanchez died Aug. 30, 2010, at his home. He was born on May 26, 1936.
He was born in Odenell and moved to Killeen as a child. Mr. Sanchez served in the U.S. Army as a combat medic in Vietnam. After leaving the Army he went to work for In Town Services as a driver, packer and inspector for over forty years.
Mr. Sanchez was preceded in death by his parents, Cenovio Sanchez and Catherine Alvas and a son, Phillip Sanchez Jr.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Sanchez of Killeen sons, Edward B. Sanchez of San Antonio and Gilbert Sanchez of Killeen daughters, Carolyn Sanchez of San Saba and Jennifer SanchezVargas of Harker Heights brother, Cecil Sanchez of Houston sisters, Victoria Gonzales of Killeen and Santaga Flores of Colorado 13 grandchildren and 11 greatgrandchildren.
Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. today with a rosary at 7 p.m. at HarperTalasek Chapel in Killeen, which is in charge of arrangements.
