Raymond Z Ortiz of Austin, passed away on Friday August 3rd 2018. He was born on August 16, 1936 to the late Adolfo and Herminia Ortiz in Bennett, Texas. Raymond was a proud member of the United States Army until his retirement in 1968. Upon retiring from the military he started several businesses and fulfilled his life as an entrepreneur. He was preceded in death by his wife Manuela Ortiz (deceased); sisters Francis Acosta and Eva Maldonado, Jovita Ortiz (deceased);Teresa Robles(deceased); and brothers Martin Ortiz (deceased) and Andrew Ortiz (deceased). Raymond is survived by his children, David Ortiz, Kathy Nabarro, Chris Ortiz, Jose Ortiz, Raymond Ortiz Jr., Josefina Cortez (deceased), Yolanda Ortiz (deceased); 16 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Service will be at 10am on Wednesday, August 8, 2018 at St. Joseph Catholic Church 2903 East Ranier, Killeen. Internment will follow at the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery. A visitation will be held Tuesday evening at Harper Talasek Funeral Home, Killeen, from 6-8 pm with a Rosary at 7pm. A celebration of life will be from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. immediately following the services Wednesday at the Knights of Columbus Hall ( St. Joseph Catholic Church).
