Renate Biddle

Services for Renate L. Biddle will be held on Monday July 21, 2008 at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home with Reverend Jimmy Towers officiating. Interment will follow at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery.

Mrs. Biddle passed away on July 15, 2008 in a Temple hospital.

January 10, 1932 in a small town in the Czech Republic known as Komotau, Josef and Rosa Lorenz were blessed with the arrival of their first of two daughters, Renate Petronella Lorenz.

She grew up in a loving home and learned early on the value of family and the need for a

strong Catholic faith. This faith was tested when the world went to war for a second time.

Anyone who knew Renate, very rarely heard her speak of these times. What she did share

is her familys move from the Czech Republic to Roth, Germany and their will to survive together.

With the end of World War II, new opportunities abound. In 1948, Renate met her future husband Oria, who was a member of the U.S. Army. During the early stages of this courtship, language was a major issue. Renates english was limited to Ice Cream which made for interesting outings as Orias German was just as restricted. They overcame the language barrier and on November 21, 1953, the two entered into a marriage which spanned five decades. Renate valued her family dearly and it showed in the great strides she took in creating a warm loving home. In her later years, she was able to watch with pride the continued expansion and success of her family.

Parents Josef and Rosa precede her in death. She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband of 55 years Oria Biddle Jr. and Children: Renate Mousey Reaves Walt of Killeen, TX; Heidi Bufford Joseph of Killeen, TX; Gloria Smith Joel of Atlanta, GA and Oria Biddle III Chajuana of Killeen, TX. Sister, Heidi Friedl Vanna of Roth, Germany. Grandchildren: Johnny Connie, Tyrone, Brian, Quentin, Bryan, Natasha, Jeuan, Latoria, Joel II, Katrese and Oria IV. Great Grandchildren: Faijon, Andrew, Destiny, Kierra, Djiron, Keilani, Jalisia, Johnny S. and Mikalah.
