Richard Arthur Burton, 62, departed this earthly life on Friday, September 23, 2022, in the comfort of his home.
Richard was born in Farmington, Maine to father, Donald Burton, and mother, Beatrice Fitzmaurice on February 24, 1960. He grew up in the Skowhegan, Maine area where he later joined the military and became a helicopter mechanic and was an expert rifleman. Richard then moved to Harker Heights, Texas where he had his son Antonio Burton in 1986. He enjoyed spending time with his son and taking him fishing. Richard then discharged from the military in 1990 where he went on to later meet and marry his wife of 20 years, Kimberly. Some of his favorite hobbies were fishing, hunting and of course, football (GO PATS!).
Richard was a loving husband, father, and grandfather (Papa). He loved spending time with family and making memories. His biggest pride and joy was being an amazing Papa to his grandkids. He was a loving person with a big heart. He welcomed everyone with open arms and gave everyone a little piece of his heart. Richard was always thinking about others and always found a way to be a part of everyone’s lives, even if it meant betting his money on football games. He found happiness in the small things.
Richard is preceded in death by his father, Donald William Burton; wife, Kimberly Gamez; and brothers, Gary Fitzmaurice and Ronald Burton.
Left to cherish the memory of Richard are his mother, Beatrice Alfreda Fitzmaurice; children, Antonio Burton and wife, Toni, Keisha Davis and husband, Dante, Nina, Katrina and Armando Gamez, and Jonathan Gamez and wife, Cheryl; brothers, Greg Burton, Thomas, Roy, and Gerald Fitzmaurice; sisters, Joyce Fitzmaurice, Donna Gagne, Deborah Gratto, and Joyce Curtis; grandkids, Gabriel and Athena Burton, Tatiana and Amiya English, Alona and Alex Gamez, Josiah, Michael and Aylce Gamez, Devon Jr., Destiny, Serenity, Malaki, Dante, and Lavontae Davis and Lilliana Gamez.
