Funeral services for Robert Bob Baker, 70, are at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Killeen, followed by graveside services at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery. Viewing will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. BRBRMr. Baker died Sept. 30, 2009, at a Temple hospital. BRBRBob, formerly of Covington, Va., was a resident of Killeen for more than 20 years. He retired after 24 years of active federal service from the United States Army, where he received the Purple Heart while serving in Vietnam. He was a life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3892, American Legion Post 573 and the Disabled American Veterans of Nolanville. BRBRHe is survived by his wife, Janice Baker of Killeen; two sisters, Rosie Baker and Betty Martin Charles Martin of Virginia; a son, Robert H. Baker Jr. Gabriella Williams of Kempner; a daughter, Patricia Otero Justin Otero of El Paso; Udo Troger of Germany, Kenneth Ondreako Joyce Ondreako of Harker Heights, Joey Ondreako of Utah, Suzan Thorton of Nevada and Sherry Burns of Georgia. He is also survived by 18 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, plus numerous nieces and nephews. BRBRHe was preceded in death by his first wife, Rose Marie Troger-Baker; his father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Baker; seven brothers, Joseph Jr., Howard, William, Gordan, Elmer, Cecil and James; and two sisters, Dorothy and Wanda.
