Robert Bridges Sr.

Brother Robert Bridges, Sr. was the first child born on October 20, 1927 in Hazelhurst, Mississippi to the union of Otha and Hannah Bridges. Brother Bridges, Sr. confessed and accepted Christ early in life. He continued to be devoted and an active Christian until the day of rest.

He united in holy matrimony to Frankie Bridges on January 19, 1947 in Robinsonville, Mississippi. They moved to Texas in 1979 and Brother Bridges, Sr. united with the Simmonsville Missionary Baptist Church, January 1990. While at Simmonsville he was a faithful and dedicated member serving on the Pastoral Choir and Brotherhood.

Brother Bridges, Sr. went on to glory on February 16, 2010, preceded in death by his wife, his parents, two brothers, two sisters and five children.

Now resting in the arms of Jesus, Brother Bridges, Sr. leaves not to mourn his departure, but always to cherish his fond memories: two brothers, Carlee Bridges, OT Lorine Bridges five sisters, Pauline Johnson, Christine Bankhead, Ella Williams, Florine Willie Stephenson, Rosie Earl Tyler nine children, Robert, Jr. Anna Bridges, Lewis Bridges, Gladys Taylor, Earl Jerry Bridges, Lonnie Bridges, Frankie Charlie Carter, Earnest Sheila Bridges, Hannah Patrick Simpson and Georgia Bridges daughterinlaw, Mary Johnson fortyfive grandchildren, seventyfive great grandchildren, eight greatgreat grandchildren sisterinlaws, Corine Rivers, Pearl Clark, Arlene Smith and Bessie Mae Bradley a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.
