Robert E. Thorman Jr. was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandpa, son, brother, uncle and friend. He left us suddenly and unexpectedly, at home, on May 12, 2023, at age 56. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 27th at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home beginning at 2 pm.
He was born in Frederick, Maryland, but was a true Texan. He attended Harker Heights Elem, Manor MS and Killeen HS. He always kept in contact with his childhood friends. He was employed with Oak Farms Dairy for 30 years and 9 months. He was dedicated to his customers and loved by them. He was not just their "milkman" he was their "Dairy Technician" driving his "Mobile Delivery Unit". He had the biggest heart and sense of humor. He never met a stranger. Once you met him you loved him, became his friend and remembered him. His love for his family and friends was unmeasurable and unquestionable. He tried to sound like the tuff guy, but we all knew he was a big softie. He was bold, outgoing, opinionated and caring. He loved "debating" his side of every situation and story. He loved music of all genres, concerts, trivia, the beach, birdwatching, Nascar, and Corvettes. He had a story for everyone and an answer for everything.
He was preceded in death by his father, Robert (Bob) Thorman.
He is survived by his wife of 21 years, Tammie; 6 children, Lauren (Ryan) Montgomery, Lyndsay (Kaleb) Elgin, Robert E Thorman III, Mathew (Sandra) Liles, Jessica Liles, Amanda Gares; 11 grandchildren, Riley, Sophia, Bentley, Addison, Sarah, James, Franky, Kaden, Rhett, Kash and Reid; his mother, Serafina Thorman; 5 sisters, Gina Lendway, Terry (Charlie) Cardona, Rosie (Scott) Eilers, Bobbie Sue (Todd) Grimm and Angela (Steve) Stamness; many nieces, nephews, and friends he considered "brothers".
In lieu of flowers, please consider contributing to Robert Thorman III's college fund. It was important to Robert Thorman Jr., that his son be able to complete his schooling. Please make checks payable to Robert Thorman III, or payments may be sent through Zelle to 254-338-7814.
Robert hated dressing up, so we hope you'll keep it casual too. We are going to have a gathering at Long Branch Park, Pav 2, after services to celebrate his life and how he touched each of us. Rudy's BBQ provided by his work family at Oak Farms Dairy. Bring along your favorite stories and plenty of memories to share.
