Private services for Ronald P. Acker, 81, of Killeen will be held on Friday, December 8 at Killeen City Cemetery.
Mr. Acker passed away on Nov. 18, 2023, in Killeen. He was born May 31, 1942, in Maydelle, TX.
Mr. Acker graduated from Maydelle High School where he played Basketball. He was drafted into the Military in which he served 2 years at Ft Hood. After his time in the military, he settled in Killeen and married his wife, Glenda, of 43 years. They had two sons, Ronald Glen and John Daniel. In the late 60’s, Mr. Acker went into the Auto Mechanic business working for Bill Wood Foreign Car Service, a business which he later purchased in 1975, and renamed it to Ron’s Foreign Car Service. Thirty plus years later he continued the business but instead continued as Ron’s Automotive Machine Shop. Mr. Acker loved to hunt, fish, watch Basketball, Baseball and Football, but most of all his greatest pastime was the love of Mud Racing. To many of his closest family and friends he was known as Big Ron, Ronnie and Jellybean.
Mr. Acker was preceded in death by his wife, Glenda; his parents, one brother, and one sister, and one grandson, Behren.
Mr. Acker is survived by a sister, Sharon Summers; his sons, Ronald Glen (Patty), and John Daniel; grandchildren, Keith, Jarod (Taylor), Brianna, Laci and Taylor; 5 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, please make a memorial to the charity of your choosing in the Acker name.
