Services for Ronald Lee Campbell Sr., 70, of Salado, will be at 9 a.m. Friday at First Church, 2314 Indian Trail in Harker Heights, with Pastor Robert Hendrick officiating. Mr. Campbell died Aug. 24, 2011, at a Temple hospital. He was born March 17, 1941, in Evansville, Ind.
Mr. Campbell joined the Army in 1959, where he received the National Defense Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Good Conduct Medal 5th Award, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal w 60 Device, five Overseas Service Bars, RVN Cross of Gallantry w Palm, and Expert Qualifation Badge Rife M16.
He retired in 1979 at Fort Bliss. In 1982, he moved to Killeen and worked as an automotive mechanic at various shops in the area.
Survivors incldue his wife, Joyce Goad Campbell of Salado sons, Ronald Campbell Jr. of Killeen, Marvin Brooks of Jacksonville, Fla., and Curtis Brooks of Harker Heights daughters, Lisa E. Campbell of Salado and Belinda Wheeler of Temple four sisters one brother 10 grandchildren and four greatgrandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, Wilfred H. Campbell mother, Opal A. Price Todd and one brother.
Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. today at HarperTalasek Funeral Home in Killeen, which is in charge of arrangements.
