Ronald Wacker

Memorial services for Ronald W. Wacker, 78, will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen. Mr. Wacker died July 20, 2013. He was born June 4, 1935, in Leola, S.D. He had 42 years of federal service 20 years serving proudly in the U.S. Army where he retired in 1975, and 22 years as a civilian employee, retiring in 1997. He met his wife, Mildred, while in the Army and they were married in Grottoes, Va., on Dec. 16, 1956. They moved to KilleenFort Hood in 1963 where they lived for 50 years. He enjoyed fishing and was an avid bowler. He was very active in the KilleenFort Hood bowling association, where he was inducted into the association Hall of Fame in 1997.
Mr. Wacker was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred Kephart Wacker son, Edward Wacker and granddaughter, Courtney Wacker. Survivors include his three sons and their spouses, Ron and Lori Wacker, Alan and Wendy Wacker and Robert and Sue Ann Wacker eight grandchildren, Rachel Carroll, Tiffany Lott, Amanda Casares, Brittany Wacker, Korey Wacker, Kyleigha Wacker, Brandon Wacker and Madison Wacker and three greatgrandchildren, Courtney Gonzales, Brody Lott, Kayden Bathe. HarperTalasek Funeral Home in Killeen is in charge of arrangements.
