A Mass of Intentions for Roque Taienao Cruz, 83 of Killeen will be 12:00 p.m.Saturday at Saint Joseph Catholic Church with Father Chris Downey officiating.  Burial with full military honors will be at a later date in Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery.

Roque ”Rocky” Taienao Cruz was born to Jose Cruz and Enriqueta Taienao Cruz on February 23, 1936 in Agat, Guam.

He joined the Army on October 7, 1955 and achieved the rank of Sergeant First Class before retiring out of Fort Hood on October 30th, 1975. After his military retirement he continued working under the Federal Civil Service at Darnall Army Medical Center at the Internal Medical Clinic and then the Central Appointment Department with another retirement 2006.

He was united in holy matrimony to Katherine Augene San Nicholas on November 30, 1965, and remained together until his passing August 7, 2019 in Killeen, Texas.

Rocky enjoyed many things in his life, which included golfing, bowling and taking his boat out to the lake to fish. His beautiful smile brought much joy to his wife, family, friends and of course his golf friends.

Among those preceding him in death are his parents, Enriqueta and Jose Cruz.

Mr. Cruz is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Katherine Jean San Nicholas Cruz; Brothers, Vincente, Jesus and Rollie Cruz; one sister, Flora Nauta;

Mother in law, Maria San Nicholas Santos; Brother and Sisters in laws, Henry and Maria Diaz Santos; Jose & Maria Nededog Santos; Antonio San Nicholas; George San Nicholas; Annie San Nicholas; Sisters and Brother in laws, Betty San Nicholas and Romeo Ichon; Rose San Nicholas and Albert Borja; Niece, Doris (Dee) Concepcion and Nephew, John Concepcion and numerous others.
