Rosa Idalia Leal

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Rosa Leal, a beloved daughter, sister, and aunt. Rosa left this world on January 15, 2024, leaving behind beautiful memories of innocence, love, and kindness.

Rosa was born on October 20, 1974, in Weslaco, TX, to her loving parents, Artemio and Hermelinda Leal. She grew up in a warm and nurturing household that showed her the love and compassion that she needed for her time in this world. Rosa was born with cerebral palsy and, despite the many challenges she faced, she was surrounded by those who loved her and supported her needs. Rosa loved Spanish music, loved playing her tambourine, loved eating sweets, and enjoyed expressing herself in her own unique way. Her warm spirit, joyful presence, and expressive personality will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. The family will hold funeral services on Thursday, January 18, at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home beginning at 9 am, with burial to follow at Killeen Memorial Park Cemetery. A visitation will be held Wednesday, January 17, from 5-7 pm at the funeral home, with recitation of the rosary at 6 pm.

May her soul fly free in the Heavens above and may her memory live on in the hearts of those who loved her.

Rosa is survived by her grieving family who cherish every moment had with her, to include her father, Artemio Leal (83); mother, Hermelinda Leal (72); brother, Antonio Leal (50) and his wife, Crystal Leal; sister, Narcedalia Danas-Leal (47) and her husband, Robbie Danas; brother, Paulo Leal (38); brother, Victor Leal (33); nieces, Angelica Leal (23), and Adrianna Leal (16); and nephew, Alejandro Leal (12).
