Rosendo “Randy” Mendoza of Harker Heights, Texas, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his family, on October 7, 2026, on his 87th birthday.

Randy was born on October 7, 1939, in Buckholts, Texas, to Juan and Guadalupe Mendoza.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Juan and Guadalupe Mendoza; his brothers, John Mendoza and Lupe Mendoza; and his sisters, Crestina DeLeon, Elida Jaramillo, and Veva Mendoza; and grandson, Gabriel Isaac Snyder.

Randy will be remembered for his kind heart, his love of music, his faith, and the special memories and traditions he created with his family. His songs will continue to be sung, his traditions will live on, and he will forever hold a special place in the hearts of those who loved him.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 62 years, Ramona Mendoza of Harker Heights; his three daughters, Mona Smalley (Calvin) of Harker Heights, Yvonne Snyder (Brent) of Belton, and Michelle Mendoza; his sister, Connie Mendoza of Temple; his grandchildren, Matthew Snyder (Brooke), Andrew Snyder, and others; and his great-granddaughter, Lissette Avila Snyder.

A Funeral Mass will be held Tuesday, October 13, at 1:00 p.m. at St. Paul Catholic Church in Harker Heights, with the Rosary beginning at 12:30 p.m.

Randy will be deeply missed and loved by his family and all who knew him.
