Roy Chlub died on September 20, 2013 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born on the family farm in Lincoln County located in southwest Minnesota on March 24, 1933. It was here that he grew up and learned the values of a good Christian Life. On June 5th, 1956 he married his life long friend Bernice Citterman in St. John Cantius Church, Wilno MN. The couple remained farming for several years before moving to Marshall MN. While living in Marshall, Roy was employed at Schwans.
Roy enjoyed playing cards with family and friends luck was always on his side. He also enjoyed fishing and spending time with his daughters as they were growing up. Spending time with his parents was very important.
The couple retired in 2005 and moved to Killeen to enjoy the warmer weather and be close to their daughter, Nancy. Roy thoroughly enjoyed Texas, the friendly people, activities at the senior center and the relaxed living at the Veranda.
He will be sadly missed by his wife, Bernice of 57 years, two daughters Barb Greene of Vandalia OH Nancy Nelson and Tom Taijeron of Kempner grandchildren, Becky Kyle Lauterhahn, Robert Greene, Daniel Greene, Ryan Greene, Courtney Greene and sister Beatrice Chlub Weverka.
He is preceded in death by his parents Michael and Cecelia Popowski Chlub, sisters Alice Chlub Shelak and Alma Chlub Kirkpatrick.
He will always be remembered for his ability to make people laugh in any situation.
