Obituary

Salemona Uati Fealofani, age 24, of Aasu, American Samoa, passed away unexpectedly on January 9, 2026.

Born on October 20, 2001, at L.B.J. Hospital in Faga‘alu, American Samoa, Salemona was the beloved son of Sinuanua Uatea Sialofa Fealofani. Affectionately known to his closest friends as “Monty,” he lived a life defined by love, dedication, and a loud, unwavering strength that left a lasting impression on everyone he met.

Salemona graduated from Nu‘uuli Vocational Technical High School as part of the “Mighty Class of 2019.” Following graduation, he pursued his passion for volleyball, playing with Tumua of Utah under the guidance of Coach Josh Ma‘alona. His journey later took him to Killeen, Texas, where he furthered his education at CyberTex Institute.

Beyond academics and athletics, Salemona had a deep love for dancing and music. His vibrant spirit and natural charisma shined brightly wherever he went. He was an active member of Space Jam in Temple, Texas, and faithfully served in ministry at Alofa Tunoa Church and K.B.C.C. Church in Killeen, Texas. Through his faith and service, he formed lasting friendships and made a meaningful impact on his community.

Salemona is survived by his grandmother, Eseta Aneti; his sisters, Vae Roberts and Sauni Savini; his brothers, Sinipao and Angie Tali’isau Fealofani, Kevin Jr. Fealofani, and Uati P.J. and Filomena Fealofani; and his Godparents, Esther and Billy Tavai. He also leaves behind his god-sisters and god-brother: Tehillah Tavai; Vaepa and Dameon Villavicencio; Rosaline Tavai; and Bethlehem Tavai.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Sinuanua Uatea Sialofa Fealofani; his grandfather, Aukuso Aneti; his grandparents, Vaepa Uiagalelei and Tafa‘ifa Sinipao Roberts; and his uncle, Rev. Chandler Pettis.

Those who knew Monty will forever remember his warm smile, generous heart, steadfast loyalty, quick wit, and unforgettable laughter. His presence brought light into every room, and his love touched countless lives. Though his time on earth was far too short, his legacy lives on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
