Services for Sally A. Fox, 82, will be held at noon January 10, 2017 at Harper Talasek Funeral Home in Killeen. Interment will follow at 2 p.m. at the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen. Mrs. Fox died December 30, 2016 in Killeen. She was born August 19, 1934, to Arnold Sinclair and Selma Shinberg Sinclair in Detroit, Michigan. Upon her mother's death, her grandmother Minnie Sinclair raised her.
Sally met her husband in the summer of 1952 and married him in December. She became a world traveler, following him to numerous duty stations from Germany to Okinawa and many stateside tours over 30 years. After arriving at Fort Hood in 1969, they retired in Killeen in 1978.
A homemaker as a career choice, Sally was a volunteer at local nursing homes, a church pianist, and Sunday school teacher at her husband's various duty stations. She was a member of the NCO Wives Club, the MEDDAC bowling league, and Women's Golf Association and enjoyed playing bingo on weekends.
Sally is survived by her loving husband of 64 years, Melvin Fox of Killeen; daughter, Debbie Taylor and her husband Ken Taylor, and a brother, Les Sinclair of Phoenix, Arizona. Mrs. Fox was preceded in death by her daughter, Brenda Fox, two sons, Robert Fox and David Fox, her parents, one brother, Clayton Sinclair and one step brother, Ted Warner.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on January 9th at Harper Talasek Funeral Home in Killeen.
